Technology drives modern CD and DVD, the
LightScribe couple in the same box a CD / DVD standard and a engraving sériégraphiée
laser label directly onto the disc. Once the disc, simply return the media in
the drive to burn the label directly on the disk itself. The engraving is done
in shades of gray, but its content can be colored, which ultimately gives a
professional look to the CD / DVD discs.
This technology requires:
LightScribe compatible Writer
compatible software. Currently,
Nero 7.0, Cyberlink, Roxio, Sonic, ... in their latest versions.
software supplied directly by the Consortium
but usually directly supplied with the software. This allows to use Windows,
Mac and Linux.
a specific media including a
special coating. Again, different companies are producing.
Although it is uncommon now the price
difference is not too much in hardware as carriers.
