HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol)
The HTTP is a network protocol client / Server
developed for the communication of hypertext files (roughly of Internet Web
pages - HTML). It is located on the layer 4 of model TCP / IP (Application). By
default it uses port TCP number 80, but can be changed. One version uses the
secure HTTPS port 443 via the security protocols SSL and TLS.
The client portion may be an Internet browser
(Explorer, Firefox, ...) or a robot used by search engines or other. It is
located in a standard computer. It can be a server apache
Linux or a version Internet Information Services Windows Server (2000, 2003 and 2008). EasyPhp and Wamp server are local HTTP servers.
