DVI

Located on video cards past few years, the DVI connection (abbreviation of Digital Video Inteface) to send information digitally on the screen (unlike a standard VGA connector that sends analog form). All current acrania integrate this type of connection. The main advantage for the TFT LCD and it is no longer a dual digital to analog conversion at the graphics card and analog to digital at the screen with the loss of image quality in result.

Different models of connectors are available after the graphics card but especially at the level of output signals:

The DVI-A is rarely used since it takes the analog signal. An adapter allows the connection to ensure a standard VGA cable. Interest is very limited.
The DVD-D instead transmits only the digital signal. Two types are used depending on the number of signals on the map in a single Link, and twice affichange the Dual.

DVI uses the analog part and digital again one or two digital channels. By cons, this connector does not transmit simultaneously both types of signals, this depends on what is trendy.

This is the most common model in the current graphic cards.

Adapters for HDMI to DVI are also available on the market. The first showing in over the audio portion and is more specialized to digital television.

Other connectors for graphics cards: S-Video for the connection of old TV (RCA or providing the same signal), VGA 15 pins.
