Bus developed as from 1998 to insert audio cards
AC' 97 when they are not directly located on the motherboards, AMR bus
(Audio Riser Modem) allows to insert mini-audio cards and Win-modem.
The majority of motherboards including the audio
chipset directly,
this mini-bus is rarely used and generally not well established in today's
computers. The CNR bus is equivalent to the level of use but also accepts
network cards. High end audio cards use PCI bus.
The acronym AMR is also used for a compressed audio
format.
